With CET Taiwan, you don't have to choose between intensive language instruction and a fulfilling internship experience. Take intensive Chinese language classes at the renowned ICLP. Intern at civil service offices, technology companies, arts organizations, consulting firms, or any other field you're interested in. Live in tropical Taipei and explore its many parks, markets, restaurants, and museums. This is a well-rounded program for students looking for a full experience and independence in study abroad.

Academic Program
CET's Taiwan program consists of a total of 15 credits (equivalent to 3.75 Pomona credits).

Students direct-enroll in a comprehensive Chinese language course (elementary, intermediate, or advance Chinese) at National Taiwan University (12 U.S. semester credits). In addition, students choose one 3-credit, English-taught course from a selection of elective courses or an internship seminar.

Living Arrangements
Self-catered, off-campus apartments, arranged by CET. Students live with CET peers and local Taiwanese students, 6-10 people per apartment with two people per room. The apartment is less than five minutes' walk from the metro station and NTU is only three stops away. Pomona provides a meal allowance.

Eligibility
  • Completion of two college semesters of Chinese language instruction (Chinese 1b), or the equivalent.
Students are expected to complete a Chinese language course the semester prior to the term abroad.
